After 25 years in the position Will took early retirement as the Associate Director of the Arizona Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies at Arizona State University. He intends to continue volunteer, community, and ministry work as well as engage in new writing projects and teaching opportunities. He remains an Adjunct Scholar at ACMRS.
He has a PhD in Renaissance English literature from ASU, and his teaching and research interests include Shakespeare, Milton, the Bible in literature, and literary approaches to the Bible.
He is an active member of The Aslan Society, an interdenominational fellowship of faculty and staff at ASU, serving as secretary of the organization for many years.
He has been on the CMI board since 2003, first serving as secretary, and starting in 2006 he assumed the chairmanship.
Will is a “mere” Christian in the C. S. Lewis sense of adhering to the essentials of the faith and not allowing the indifferent traditions of various denominations to hinder him from fellowship. He can therefore worship with any essentially orthodox community, Catholic or Protestant; he currently attends Hope Christian Church in Tempe, Ariz.
