Brandi Powell has been in ministry since 2007 when her husband took a position as senior pastor at a church in Peoria, AZ. There, she established a women’s ministry, co-created a community farmers market, helped to plan and execute church events, held the Office Manager position, and implemented women’s Mending the Soul small groups.
Her start with Mending the Soul Ministries began in 2011 as a participant in an adult small group. During that time, a new passion arose in her to help other survivors of abuse find the same healing she had. By 2012, she had been trained as a facilitator and began the process of planting a MTS ministry at her church.
Over time, Brandi’s years of ministry in church leadership have become critical in understanding concerns of church leaders and the complex dynamics that abuse causes in a church family. She uses this understanding to share the MTS redemptive healing model with church leaders around the country.
At Mending the Soul she currently holds the following positions:
- Adult Small Group Administrator
- Women’s Small Group Facilitator
- Certified Trainer
- Skype Facilitation Team Leader
- Best Practice Mentor
- Liaison between MTS and potential churches
In addition to her work with Mending the Soul, Brandi has shared her story of redemption and healing with survivors and community leaders alike. From women’s shelters to leadership retreats to MTS enrichment programs, she has made herself available to organizations inside and outside the church in effort to spread the message of hope and healing in Christ.
